Asthma attack video transcript

Jonjo: Hey. What you doing?

Ekam: I didn’t hear you come in.

Jonjo: Your Mum let me in. Hey, I didn’t know you had a loft.

Ekam: Oh, my dad was doing something up there this morning. I think he’s been clearing it out or something.

Jonjo: Can I see?

Ekam: Hmmm I don’t know. I don’t think I’m really allowed up there.

Jonjo: Just quickly, then we’ll come straight back down.

Ekam: Shhhhh my mum will hear.

Jonjo: Sorry, it’s the dust.

Ekam: Hey cool, my old toys! Are you OK?

Jonjo: I… can’t… breathe!

Ekam: It’s OK. We need to get you out of this dust. It’s going to be OK. Mum! Mum! It’s OK – just breathe in and out. You’re going to be OK. It’s gonna be fine. Mum! Mum! It’s alright, you’re gonna be fine. You’re OK. Just breathe in and out. You’re gonna be OK. It’s gonna be fine. Just breathe in and out.

Mum: What are you doing?

Ekam: Mum, Jonjo is having an asthma attack.

Mum: Do you need me to call your parents?

Jonjo: It’s OK. I’m feeling much better.

Mum: Good.

Ekam: If someone is having an asthma attack, tell them to sit down and rest. Tell them not to worry and that you’re going to help them. Help them to use their inhaler. Tell an adult. If someone’s having an asthma attack, remember, help them to use their inhaler.
