Home learning pathway
We know that teachers and parents have a lot to keep them busy, but what could be more empowering than learning vital first aid skills? Even better the whole family can get involved.
First aid champions* is packed full of learning activities for 5 to 18 year olds. From films and photos to role plays and quizzes there’s something for everyone.
To help you get started on the website we’ve created two learning pathways (for each of the primary and secondary sections) to help you use the site in a home-school setting. The whole site is free for you to use and explore, the pathways are there to guide if needed.
Primary pathway 1
- Start by meeting the eight relatable characters who you’ll learn with.
- Explore why learning first aid is important and choose your first aid skills.
- Explore three skills
b. burn
c. bleeding
- Test yourself with our quizzes.
- Explore thinking about helping.
- Understand when to call 999.
- Share your skills with others.
You can continue working your way through the site or work through the other pathway. Click teaching plan downloads for activity ideas with each skill.

- Focus on thinking about coping and kindness.
- Think about safety at home.
- Learn a skill and test yourself with a quiz. Explore how to help someone who:
a. has a head injury and quiz
b. might have a broken bone and quiz
c. is choking and quiz
- Share your new skills with others in your household.
